furries have mastered the skies and they must be stopped before they conquer land or sea
This came up on my Facebook feed. I would not have pegged Time Magazine as being one to whine about how men are being excluded. Yes, we know men have problems too, but we’re trying to have our own conversation, we don’t need it derailed.
Edit: Here’s the link to the actual article. I only skimmed it but it made me twitch. http://time.com/3432838/emma-watson-feminism-men-women/
Feminist: “Why are we talking about men?! Stahp!1!!”
Emma: I have no idea why people think Feminists don’t care about men! It’s so odd!
atleast Time magazine journalist have some sense instead of hoping on the feminist bandwagonThank god. I was honestly getting tired of all this feminist apologist nonsense. Though I guess a lot of people don’t know much about the evils feminism has done, so be sure to go toaaasourcesso you can spread the info.
My jaw literally dropped reading this.
I cannot believe Time ran this.
The way she cuts to the meat of the matter in this article just blew me away:
Men must, indeed, “feel welcome to participate in the conversation” about gender issues. But very few will do so if that “conversation” amounts to being told to “shut up and listen” while women talk about the horrible things men do to women, and being labeled a misogynist for daring to point out that bad things happen to men too and that women are not always innocent victims in gender conflicts.
#YesAllWomen hastag, anyone?
A real conversation must let men talk not only about feminist-approved topics such as gender stereotypes that keep them from expressing their feelings, but about more controversial concerns: wrongful accusations of rape;
Omg, she said it….
sexual harassment policies that selectively penalize men for innocuous banter;
Omg, she fucking said it….
lack of options to avoid unwanted parenthood once conception has occurred.
Oh my FUCKING god, she FUCKING said it!!!
Such a conversation would also acknowledge that pressures on men to be successful come not only from “the patriarchy” but, often, from women as well. And it would include an honest discussion of parenthood, including many women’s reluctance to give up or share the primary caregiver role.
I’m still amazed at this…
…maybe even a little hopeful?
A world without feminist bullshit where the the issues she listed are actually addressed would actually be a great world to live in.
ALL HAIL CATHY YOUNG
Get a job, run for President and walk alone at night without carrying mace and looking over my shoulder.
I’d also take the opportunity to travel to places a woman can never go unaccompanied; I’d travel alone, I’d see Tunisia and Morocco and go skiing in Iran and see Russia and Mexico and camp alone.
You say this like I’d wake up shocked and horrified and appalled, but all it means to me is that I’d be free:
Free to leave dishes in the sink knowing someone else will handle them, free to have a sense of humour and take up space and not have men harass me and creep at me and make rape jokes, and free to hold a woman’s hand in public and not fear for my life.
Free to make more money, do more things, meet more people. I’d be a Human, not a woman.
This isn’t realistic whatsoever. More than likely you would get gender dysphoria.
Besides that women can already do all of those things, granted with more difficulty with some of those (barely any with a lot of them though)
I might get sex dysphoria, when I looked down and went “sweet fuck what is this weird sausage shit hanging from my crotch?”,
But I’d get over it when I saw my next paycheque and had my opinions taken seriously at my place of employment and was considered for a promotion ahead of qualified female colleagues.
I’d miss my tits, but not bad enough to cry about potentially running for office without my sex being held against me.
It’s not too wise to predict the impact of something you’ve never experienced.
You’re right. As a woman, I’ve never experienced an equal standing in the workforce and know that should I run for office, they’ll ask me about my hair, clothes and whether I think I can juggle having a family and a high powered career, as they did to Hillary Rodham-Clinton.
That’s the entire point. I’d LOVE to think I could one day be promoted to CEO of a Fortune 50 company. Of a Fortune 500. Of any company, really.
But my sex is an automatic blow to that aspiration, because men are vastly over represented in law, politics, business and health care. When in those fields, women make considerably less, even when all factors are accounted for.
So I’ll try anyways, but you’re right. I’ll probably never experience it.
I was talking about sex dysphoria not the social capital that comes with being a man. You made a prediction that money would assuage whatever sex dysphoria came with suddenly waking up in a male body.
"Get over it"
OP has no fuckin idea what dysphoria is like
OP is also trying too hard to claim shit that’s been debunked way too many goddamn times.
Then debunk them.
Go ahead, let’s see these sources. I can cite mine, what about you?
Prepare thy anus.
2 women are the majority in the work force
3 male unemployment sky high
4 some fields have women make more
5 Dads wish they had more family time.
6 (women avoid math related fields.)
7 multiple sources.
Countries with most equal laws and culture have the biggest gaps in careers due to people being free to choose their own field rather than take whatever job is available. And there is evidence that there are intrinsic differences in male vs females interest in the first day in life.

The only chairwoman in the FTSE 100 index of biggest British companies, when asked about government efforts to force companies to make at least 25% of board member to be female said: “there’s no real evidence to suggest women being on a board makes the companies any better – what we’re doing here is forcing an experiment.” This was further supported in the book “Why Men Earn More” by Warren Farrell, Ph.D., examined 25 career/life choices men and women make (hours, commute times, etc.) that lead to men earning more and women having more balanced lives, and that showed how men in surveys prioritize money while women prioritize flexibility, shorter hours, shorter commutes, less physical risk and other factors conducive to their choice to be primary parents, an option men still largely don’t have. That is why never-married childless women outearn their male counterparts, and female corporate directors now outearn their male counterparts.http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSN0752118220071107?feedTy…
Farrell also lists dozens of careers, including fields of science, where women outearn men. Women simply have more options than men to be primary parents, and many of them exercise that option rather than work long, stressful hours. That is why 57% of female graduates of Stanford and Harvard left the workforce within 15 years of entry into the workforce.http://edition.cnn.com/2005/BUSINESS/03/15/optout.revolution/ This is an option few men have (try being a single male and telling women on the first date that you want to stay home).

Of the abused men who called domestic violence hotlines, 64% were told that they “only helped women.” In 32% of the cases, the abused men were referred to batterers’ programs. Another 25% were given a phone number to call that turned out to be a batterers’ program. A little over a quarter of them were given a reference to a local program that helped.
In fiscal year 2015 the United States Government will grant Two Hundred and Twenty Two Million in Grants to Combat Violence against Women. No money is earmarked to benefit males. None
Meanwhile organizations such as NNEDV.ORG lists men not getting a job as a form of domestic violence.
You still want to keep this on an intellectual level?
What has feminism actually done in the past 10 years? This is a legitimate question, and it would be great if someone could answer.
got women to vote you dumb shit
I had no idea women gained the right to vote in 2004. Someone tell historical facts this, because it says otherwise.
